EAM Jaishankar for full implementation of 13A in Sri Lanka for addressing issues of Tamil community
Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has expressed hope for a reconciliation process in Sri Lanka that addresses the aspirations of the minority Tamil community for equality and justice. He emphasized the implementation of the 13th Amendment to the Constitution, which provides for the devolution of power to the Tamil community. Jaishankar also highlighted India's support for Sri Lanka's multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, and multi-religious identity. He discussed India's contributions to Sri Lanka's development and stability, including financial assistance of approximately USD 4 billion. Jaishankar also mentioned collaborative efforts to address Sri Lanka's energy requirements and regional economic activities for mutual benefit.
