Pakistani forces clash with militants and kill 6 fighters during a raid in the northwest
Six militants were killed and eight others injured in a shootout with Pakistani security forces during a raid in the northwest region. The operation took place in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan, where troops exchanged fire with the militants. One soldier also lost his life, and weapons and ammunition were recovered from the militants' hideout. Despite previous efforts, occasional attacks by the local Taliban continue, raising concerns of regrouping and sanctuaries in Afghanistan.
