Scotland’s first Muslim first minister resigns after 13 months in role
Humza Yousaf, the first minister of Scotland of Pakistani descent, was filled with emotion when he declared his resignation on Monday before facing two no-confidence votes scheduled for this week, one against him and one against his government. The Tories and Labour proposed the motions after Yousaf, aged 39, unexpectedly ended the power-sharing cooperation agreement between his party, SNP, and the Greens.
