Ukraine to plough $35 million into fortifying border with Russia, Belarus
Ukraine's Prime Minister, Denys Shmyhal, announced on Tuesday that the country will invest almost $35m in building new fortifications and military infrastructure in northeast regions that border Russia and Belarus. This move follows the Russian invasion in February 2022, which led to the partial occupation of the Chernihiv region, contributing to Ukraine's efforts to prevent another invasion.
